Take action to help people in institutions.
You could write to the authorities of the countries in question, as well as to the European Commission, urging them to end the human rights abuses and inhuman and degrading treatment in institutions.

I wrote yesterday to the mentioned institutions. Today I have recieved a reply form the EC – the cabinet of the Commissioner Vladimir ŠPIDLA, saying that they do not understand clearly about what survey I am requesting actions – I really thought that they have already been informed about it. So I have replied citing this web-site and hope that they would immediately DO something!

I spoke with Bulgarian minister – Simeon Diankov – unfortunately he and his colleagues in the Bulgarian parliament were clueless to what is going on and even worse have no idea nor plan what to do and how to help.
In my opinion we need to put them to live among those people for at least a day so they get the idea…..
